Papers

The SICE Annual Conference 2017 accepts two types of submissions for review: regular paper and position paper. Both types of papers should be written in English, and will be included in the conference proceedings.
An extra charge will apply for every additional page for papers longer than 6 pages.


Final submission:

Both types of manuscripts should be submitted via Papercept site.
The authors must complete the payment of the registration before the final submission.

Regular paper:

Full papers (6 pages in conference format) must be submitted for review. The accepted papers will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Normal length for the final manuscript of the regular paper is 6 pages. Papers exceeding 6 pages may be submitted upon payment of overlength page charges. A maximum of 2 extra pages above 6 pages are permitted.

Position paper:

Extended abstracts (2-4 pages in conference format) must be submitted for review. This category is provided for authors who want to present a timely review of research, a case study, and so on. This type of paper will NOT be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

Paper submission:

Both types of manuscripts should be submitted via Papercept site. Please verify (PIN wizard) the affiliations of you and coauthors, which are registered on the Papercept system, before submission of your manuscript.

For all regular-paper initial submissions, similarity and overlap with prior published materials will be checked. The results will be used for the paper evaluation. The same check will be performed for all final submissions including position papers.

Tutorials & Workshops

Tutorials should target established fields of research, in order to provide descriptions on its state of the art, by individuals who are recognized researchers of the field. Workshops should focus on areas of active research, in order to provide an informal forum for participants to exchange developing research results and ideas. We encourage state of the art programs with high level of interest, impact, creativity and innovation that will attract a broad audience. Workshops and tutorials focusing on academia-industry partnership and technology transfer of robotics research are welcome. The primary criteria for selection are anticipated level of interest, impact, novelty or creativity, and technical background of presenters.

The submission of a tutorial or workshop contribution must be accompanied with the following information:

- Title;
- Format (indicate full or half day, tutorial or workshop);
- Main Organizer (one person only, complete address, phone, and email);
- Co-organizers (complete address, and email);
- Statement of objectives;
- Intended audience;
- List of speakers;
- List of topics;

The proposal must be submitted via the Papercept submission site.

Upon approval the organizers will be asked to produce and maintain a dedicated tutorial/workshop webpage which shall be used to disseminate updated information on the tutorial/workshop and also to raise interest from potential additional presenters and participants. The organizers will also be required to collect and integrate tutorial/workshop abstract (A4 size, 1page) before the workshop, and to make these materials available to the conference organization in due time for the production of the SICE 2017 handout.

The tutorials and workshops will be held before the main conference, on the 19th of September at Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan. We look forward to hosting your workshops and tutorials at SICE 2017.

Organized Session Proposal

The goal of organized sessions is to provide focused discussions on a new topic or innovative applications of a new approach. Each session consists of 5-6 papers, which will be reviewed via the normal review process. Both regular and position papers can be included in a session. For session proposals, it is recommended to include a brief statement of the session focus, together with the submission of the individual papers.

The submission of a organized session contribution must be accompanied with the following information:

- Session title;
- Session description;
- Session organizers(s) (name, affiliation, contact information);
- Session chair;
- List of presenters;
- Other information;

Submitted proposals are reviewed by the SICE2017 program committee. Due to limitation of session slots, please understand that not all proposal may be accepted. For proposals of organized sessions that are accepted, the organizer is responsible for moderation of the session at SICE2017. Deadline of paper submission is the same as those of regular sessions, and the papers will be published in the conference proceedings. We look forward to hosting your organized session at SICE 2017.
